Jack got some motivational signage on his crib (you all saw that coming, I'm sure).I washed the tiniest of the clothes that Laura got him and brought a few things of his own for him to wear. They are sized “under 5 lbs,” but there is a big difference between 2 and 5. He swims in them but still looks adorable. I held him during two feedings yesterday and he behaved well for both. I can tell when he has a bit of reflux b/c he arches his back and makes a sad face :-(, which are the only time his numbers dip a little. I'm really trying to watch him and not the monitors to determine how he's doing, but it's not easy.
He continues to get great reviews from the nurses and doctors and we hope to try removing the CPAP early this week. It is on the minimal setting, but they were going to give him a few days to just relax and continue to do well before taking it off.
He gained another 10 grams yesterday (1/3 of an ounce) and is just over 2lbs 4oz. They are going to start fortifying the milk to make it 22 calories per ounce instead of the 20 it is naturally, so that should help him bulk up a little quicker. They can increase that to 24 eventually after they see how he tolerates it. I’ve also been giving him the pacifier during the feedings, which he seems to be working well. He is definitely sucking on it, but we won’t be able to tell if he’s got the suck, swallow, breathe coordination until we go live.
If all goes well, he will get the CPAP off in the next few days and we can take more pictures of his cute little face (once his nose and ears recover from being smushed by the tube and the straps). The nurse assured me that he won't look like a pug when it comes off.

That is too funny! We love it! It is so exciting to hear even the smallest details. We thrive on it! I am excited to hear that Dave came and that Erin flies in from Tn. today. I can imagine the pride in your and Soren's faces as you show off your beautiful Son!!!! Tell Jack that his Grandma and Grandpa love him. Have a wonderful day! God Bless

Jack looks great!!! What a difference two weeks makes.
Donna, you look great too. What fun to finally be able to hold little Jack and cuddle with him. He looks very content in your arms.
He also looks much more comfortable in soft jammies.
