"Superstar"---that is the review we got from one of the nurses this morning. Jack is doing great. He got the CPAP off this morning and they'll see how he does on the high flow oxygen tubes. He still has the tape on his nose, which we were told would be removed later this afternoon, assuming all goes well. I held him for over an hour right after he got the CPAP removed and he did excellent (no dips in heartrate or breathing).
He gained another ounce and is now 2lbs 5oz. The next milestone we're looking for is for him to reach 1500 grams (approx 3lbs 5oz). That is the point where he can start being bottle fed. If he keeps up with an ounce a day, that should be in about 2 weeks.

Still several weeks premature and already he's converting Earth's natural atmosphere into rich fuel for his internal organs. This is a satisfying development.
It won't be long before our yellow Sun imbues him with powers beyond our comprehension.
For Jack is a superbaby.
I said "SUPERBABY"!
Thanks guys for the time you are taking to keep us informed. Thanks for all the pictures. I am very proud of you guys. And we are praying for you and baby Jack. Can't wait to kiss his little cheeks.
Love,
Aunt Mary
Hi Jack,
Happy 3rd week birthday.
I hope you enjoyed our singing happy birthday to you today. It was your ggmc(great grandmother culver) who was singing with me. Our voices aren’t great but I hope you felt the all the love that was behind them.
You look great! I am so glad that they were able to remove the “mask” from your face so ggmc could gaze at your full little cheeks and see those big brown eyes. I haven’t seen you in 10 days and I am so impressed with your pink skin (from your good oxygenation). Even your feet look like they have grown 2 sizes. I cant wait to kiss them. Did I tell you that I was voted #1 in” the most beautiful feet in the culver family” contest
I fear that you may take away the award but you will have my vote!!!
The other voice you heard was your aunt Kelly she brought you some really soft and handsome new clothes. She is married to your dads brother Erik.
Hey did you here nurse Eileen say that your fingers got caught in the nasal canulla and the tubing came out!!!!!! We know different, and I applaud your efforts to free yourself of all your attachments. Have patience Jack, you are nimble and quick-ly catching on to all the things you need in your new world.
Thanks for the nice visit
love and kisses
grammie
ps grandpa culver sends his love
