Hello everyone! Welcome to Jack's blog. We know we have kept many of you waiting an entire week for an update, but we are up and running with a computer now, so we can keep everyone up to date on our little adventure here in Albany, NY.

Aside from being very tiny, he is doing extremely well. He has been breathing on his own since day two and his digestive process is slowly getting on track. These are two of the biggest things that will be monitored until we can take him home. Our earliest expectation is that we'll be ready to go home mid-August. But, we'll be taking things one day at a time and will keep everyone posted (without boring you all with too much medical jargon).

I know many of you have asked where you can reach us. We are currently at a Hilton Garden Inn connected to the Albany Medical Center. On Sunday, we'll be moving to a Marriott Town Place Suites where we'll be until the end of July. Once we're settled there, I'll provide that address, as well as that of Soren's parents, who live about an hour from here.
For anyone that hasn't heard, our trip to Albany has been extended a bit. During a 2 day trip to visit Soren's parents, little Jack decided to make his escape into the world. I ended up in the ER because of extrememly high blood pressure. We learned that I had severe preeclampsia (really high blood pressure with bad implications for both Jack and I). The decision was made that he would be better off on the outside. So on Wednesday June 27th at 11:27am, we got to meet our little 1lb 12oz , 14 inch baby Jack.

Some big milestones and fascinating facts: He was down a few ounces, but is back up to his birth weight as of today. He has very long fingers and toes, which you might be able to see in some pictures. Since he has almost no chubb on his little face, he kind of looks like E.T. We are able to hold him and change his very tiny diaper. He makes regular newborn sounds--cries, sneezes and yawns. He opens his eyes often and I was told that he can see as well as any other week old baby, as his eyes are fully formed and his sight is developed from stimulation.
He is an amazing little guy and we are very excited to watch him grow and change every day.
You can view earlier pictures at http://johnpglynn.com/jack.html. We have a bunch more pictures and I will figure out an organized way to post them.

We can't wait to meet you Jack!!
Oh my gosh.. that is so exciting! Wow.. this is the first time you've signed something.. Donna, Soren and Jack. The first time of many to come. The pictures and blog are awesome.
Congratulations on bringing your new little Jack Thomas into the world. Little Jack has quite a birth story, so I hope you're documenting it. We miss you and can't wait to meet your new son! (Did you hear that??.. You have a son!!! You are officially a family now! Isn't that exciting?)I know this is a lot to ask.. but if you update this daily.. I won't pinch your little guy when I see him. OK??
We love you guys so much and are so excited for you!!!
Love,
Jack's Aunt Corry, Uncle Jim, Cousins- Jackie and Maddie.
Donna, Soren and JACK,
Wow!! What a lucky baby to have the two of you as parents.
We really appreciate this blog. It's hard being so far away during such an important event. We have been thinking of you guys constantly and hang on every piece of information we get. Jack must be some guy - He's quite a scrapper. (But you do know that Uncle Kevin has used bait that is larger than Jack is!)
All of our prayers have been answered. I'm glad that you are getting such good care. And isn't it lucky that Soren's parents got to be part of the birth as well. That wouldn't have happened if Jack had decided to hang around a little longer where he had his own room (without a view).
We will continue to pray for the entire family and wait very impatiently until you return.
Please take care of yourself. Give Jack a kiss from his favorite Aunt Nancy and Uncle Kevin
