I'll try to take a picture of Jack & the Bear often to track his progress. In the past few days, I feel like I could watch him gain some extra cheek in an hour or so. His face is changing so much every day as he packs on the ounces. I weigh him on the bathroom scale, and according to my calculations, he's 5lbs 6oz. This seems a little high, given he was 5 lbs only 3 days

ago. My scientific approach is to get on the scale with him and without him and take the difference. We'll see at the next weigh in.
Everyone would love to believe their bathroom scale isn't the most accurate :-)
As his due date approaches (Sept 15), he is showing signs of "maturity." He is more awake and alert for longer stretches during the day and he has found his cry. Before, he would just kind of grunt when he was unhappy or u

ncomfortable. Now, a bulb syringe to the nose or waiting too long for a bottle definitely gets him angry! Also, when he's on his belly, he can lift his head and move it easily from side to side (a developmental target we were told to look for).
Yesterday, Jack and I walked the track near our house. He did very well--so now I have no excuse not to get out there and exercise. Well...today it looks like rain. We should probably stay in. More to come!

Oh my goodness.. what a big guy! Love the bear thing. I did that too with the girls. It is an excellent means of showing his progress.
I know what you mean about the bathroom scales.. I found that mine was off by about a hundred pounds or so.. and when they are that inacurate.. it's just best to throw them out.
I'm sorry I missed the fingerprinting party last weekend. I'm sure you had lots of visitors though.
Regarding the progress and him picking his head up.. wouldn't that make him a little a head of schedule?.. because if he were not yet due.. he certainly wouldn't be picking his head up yet.. right?.. I think that's a sign of genius.
Give him lots of kisses for me, please. Love the pictures and the updates!
Love you guys!

Oh.. and neener.. neener Aunt Nancy.. I was here before you!
I love Jack and the Bear! Since he was here on Monday, I look at my bouncer chair and his toys sitting in them (which, I might add, that he shared them very nicely with his cousin Molly)and it just makes me giggle to see little baby things in my house again. And Cor, you are right, I believe he IS a genius. Every time I talk to Donna on the phone, I know that he is aware that it is me, his Grandma, and he gives his little squeeks of joy. I just LOVE IT!
When Jack gets too big for that bear, let's compare him next to Olin Kreutz*.

(* funny because Olin Kreutz is a 300 lb. center for the Chicago Bears)
Hey, I've been busy the past few days. It's OBVIOUS some people don't have enough to do.
He still says I'm his favorite - so just get over yourself GAC.
Love,
(Jack's favorite and let's NEVER forget it!) Aunt Nancy
Hello Culver family. It was so good to be able to kiss and hold the little prince. You have an early picture of Jackson with Brian. If you get a chance I would love to see you put a current picture of Jack with Brian. I just want to see the difference in Jack's size with little Brian. Thanks. Take care and God Bless you all.
