3 lbs!

Jack is now a hefty 3 lbs and still doing great! His face is really starting to fill out. It's amazing how he doesn't seem small to us anymore. I suppose it's because he's surrounded by babies in his own weight class. If we put him next to an 8 pounder, he might get a little intimidated.

I don't know how many "Today" show fans are out there, but they always have a segment wishing Happy Birthday to people turning 100. Maybe her memory was fuzzy, but one of the women claimed to have been born weighing 1lb and kept warm in a shoe box behind the stove. Maybe if we let the doctors know that is our plan, they'll let us take him home. Unbelievable how strong little babies can be!

I didn't want to make it the headline because we are again hesitantly hopeful. However, we are all scheduled for a trip to Chicago tomorrow morning! We all know now who decides if we ultimately end up going....but we are VERY hopeful that Jack will be all settled at Children's Memorial tomorrow afternoon (only 2 miles from our house!).

More to come!

Love,
Donna, Soren & Jack

He's almost DOUBLED his weight in 5 weeks ... are you sure the Ronald McDonald house isn't sneaking him a few McGriddles each morning?

Way to go, Jackson! I'll keep my fingers crossed for a reunion tomorrow.

Oh my gosh!! He is so beautiful. I am praying he will arrive here safely tomorrow and continue to chubby up. You are in my thoughts. You're strength has been such an inspiration. What a lucky little boy.

HI Jack
By now you are at your new home in Chicago. Your dad called a little while ago while you were in the ambulance, with sirens sounding announcing to Chicago that you have finally arrived!!!
The next time I see you, you will be HUGE and maybe I can hold you.
Keep up the good work.
I will see you soon and maybe I can get grandpa to visit with me
Keep up the spitbubble practice and remember I love you
grandpa sends his love too
