Movin' right along

So much to report....
Jack has had his oxygen tube off for two days now and is doing great! He has also been taking bottles at a few feedings a day and doing really well. He's been moved (again) to the NICU "step down" room on the 7th floor. This is for the well behaved babies on their way to going home. It is a much calmer more spacious room.

His biggest challange now is being able to take all feedings by mouth while still gaining weight. He's still hanging out between 4lbs 1oz and 4lbs 3oz as this new bottle thing is taking a lot out of him. But he is a trooper--except when mommy didn't burp him enough today he returned almost an entire bottle to remind her. But, then we got to give him a bath. We're learning together.

One of the Chicago Cubs was at the hospital yesterday signing autographs for the kids, and Soren was kind enough to get Jack an autographed baseball and picture. Here they are posed in his bassinette, which is all Dreft-smelling and ready for his homecoming:

Oh my Goodness! Precious Little Jack, you are doing a great job. We are so blessed to have you and you are so blessed to have the Mommy and Daddy that you have. Keep up the fantastic work! Before you know it, you and Daddy will be in the yard playing catch with that very same baseball. I hope to see you again this evening after work. Kisses and Hugs to all!

Silly Grandma...you don't actually PLAY baseball with one that's been signed. You put it in a glass case and stare at it. Boys have lots of "fun" toys like that :-)

Too bad Jack's not big enough for his White Sox jammies yet.
