Jack is in a crib now (decorated with Superman--thanks Julie!) Not only is this a milestone that he can maintain his body temperature, it also means he is much more easily accessible and we can scoop him up as soon as we get there without assistance from a nurse. He has also taken a full bottle of 35 mL (a little over an ounce). Unfortunately, it was at 3am this morning when we weren't there, but we did give him about 10mL today. We will continue to do so when he is awake enough, like this:
The 4lb 4oz reading the other day was a little off (the nurse either miscalculated, or gave me the weight of another baby). He was actually still 4lbs 1oz and is now up to 4lbs 3oz. Thank you to everyone who made it to the shower yesterday on such short notice. Thank you very much for celebrating with us and for all of your generous gifts! We are all ready for Jack's homecoming, which will hopefully be in a few short weeks.
More to come!

Donna and Soren,
Ever notice how you never see your son and SuperJack at the same time? Just an observation.
Those pics of him so adorable I squealed a manly squeal. Keep up the cute work, everyone.

So adorable! The Super Man on his crib reminds me of John Patrick's SuperMan Doll.. and his Super Man sheets from when he went away to college. ...aahhh.. good times.. good times.
Incidentally, I've heard J.P. squeal?... It's not that manly.
Donna and Soren.. he is absolutely adorable. He looks like a newborn that was right on schedule.
Keep up the great work!!!
Love you guys!

Hi Jack
Sorry this took so long but I was waiting to tell you the good news
We have a cuddling date for September 16th I am overjoyed to know that I can soon hold you, and---grandpa sounds like he is coming too. Uncle Ezra is also planning to visit. We will have a great time. Don,t tell a soul but Lois just might drop in if shes not on assignment.
Your dad said you had 2 bottles on Monday. I am so proud of you. I am sure it wont be long before they take that silly tube out of your nose.
I have your new-born picture (the one with the saran wrap on your head) and the most recent, with your big eyes open in my office at work-- what an amazing accomplishment. Keep up the good and the cute work.
sweet dreams
Love

Hey Uncle John,
You keep up that squeal - manly or otherwise - and we will force you to move back to the South Side. Apparently, you've been living on the North Side too long!
Does Jack have a pair of glasses to wear so he fools everyone that he's really not Superman?? Just wondering . . .
Love and take care,
(your favorite) Aunt Nancy and Uncle Kevin
