We had a very nice Sunday evening at Laura & Ryan's house, eating chili and carving pumpkins with Grandma & Grandpa. Jack has become so much more alert in the past few days. He holds his head up pretty well and listens very attentively. Here are some of the pictures from yesterday. I just noticed the knife stuck in the pumpkin behind Jack...so much for my nice fall background :-)
Jack giving a little pat to his cousin Grace (who will be joining us soon!).

Your family photos are great! Thanks for coming and carving pumpkins with me.
Jack is so cute and well behaved. Hopefully he will teach Grace how to politely grunt instead of scream for her food.
These photos make me really sad I couldn't join yesterday ... let's make a turkey carving date soon after Grace joins us.

Great job on the pumpkins. It sounds like you had a good time together - too bad John wasn't there as well.
I thought the knife in the pumpkin was kind of a decoration - making everything spooky - kinda like a scary movie. But perhaps, I should call DCFS for leaving a knife right above Jack's head . . .
Thanks for sharing.
Love,
(your favorite) Aunt Nancy and Uncle Kevin
Hi Jack,
WOW I am impressed at the fantastic pumpkin carving. Bravo to grandma and great job to the others. Martha would have been envious of the creations carved at your family event. I am not sure what she would say about the knife in your holiday picture-- but I think we could eliminate"its a good thing"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe your uncle John Could doctor the picture but I am afraid of what he would think of---
Despite the "little" knife incident- your picture is beautiful and your are so lucky to have a wonderful family to entertain and love you.
(Maybe I should send a body guard though, for the turkey carving!)
I am so happy to be able to share some of these wonderful events in your life.
The family portraits are sweet.
I see you and Grace are already communicating through morse code. You are so smart.
Sweet dreams
Love Grammie
Grandpa had a nice birthday and says Howdy
