The Clapper

Jack's new skills in the 36 hours I was gone:

On the video Soren so kindly took, he is applauding "Dragon Tales" on TV. But I witnessed him clapping this morning when "If You're Happy and you Know it" was played by one of his toys. He also followed me into the kitchen to make a bottle before naptime, repeating "ba ba" Look out Harvard.

His other current hobby is climbing on things. He was very proud of himself perched on top of the suitcase.

Okay...so I didn't watch the video with sound before. The magnified creaking of the floors doesn't bode well for my rant about state of the house, does it?

A creaky floor is very important when you are rocking a baby to sleep. Your Nana had the best floor for rocking a baby, so it's a plus, not a minus.
Oh my gosh, what a difference a few days can make. He looks so much older now and his skills are growing so quickly! Pretty soon he will be a sassy two year old, so enjoy the quiet now. Ba ba is a nice sound. "NO!", however, can be a pain in the ass . . .
Anyway, thanks for the update. Glad you made it home safe and sound.
Love to all . . .

Thank God that was the floor ... for a second I thought Soren was rusting.

Now that Jack can clap, PLEASE take him out to see some live improv as soon as possible. We need more enthusiasm like his in the audience.

Also maybe climbing on the suitcase is his own adorable way of protecting you from future Arkansas trips.
