Jackson the Explorer

We are just beginning the "into everything" phase. He wants to reach, touch, push buttons, flip switches, unplug, turn knobs and get anything that is just out of his reach. If he can reach it without climbing over something or standing on his tip toes, it must not be fun.

A "Jackson was here" kitchen...

Doing a little reading -

"I believe these are the keys to the Jeep...I'll be going now."

Temporary containment.

He still needs a boost (or a chair) to help him up, but he finally mastered getting down off the coffee table. Our coffee table is a big ottoman, so this is acceptable. We push it up against the couch and he has a great time up there. I apologize if you find him on the coffee table at your house.

Hi Jackson! I was thinking of you this morning when Miss Molly decided to add "jacket" to her growing vocabulary and it just comes out "jack". So then I had to see my Jack (that's you my dear) and I was so happy to find new pictures here! I enjoy seeing you adventures. I also enjoy your Mommy's take on things. As you get bigger and more...umm... toddler-minded?... I feel that she'll better understand me. The half-crazed woman I've become anyway. I'll be here waiting for the photos of when you discover kitchen drawers make great steps and that you can get on the countertop no problem and help yourself to all the wonders mommy & daddy keep hidden up high. It might be a few months yet before such things occour to you. But it'll happen. Good Luck on your adventure quest Jackson!

Jackson is invited to climb on (almost) anything at our house.
Thanks for the update.
Love to all . . .

Isnt' it amazing.. did you ever think you would be encouraging him to climb on things... just so he could learn how to "turn around".. to get down??..

Isn't this the most fun you've ever had with a video camera?.. well, maybe not..

Thank you for sharing.. I love the updates!!!!

Love and hugs,
me

I noticed when I was looking at the pictures (for the 100th time) that when Jack is "reading", he has casted Walt Whitman aside for a Wine Buying Guide.
My kind of man!!

hi Jack,
Happy Columbus Day. Maybe someday you will have a day devoted to you. Your explorations are quite extensive these days and who knows what you may discover on one of your expositions.
Your grandpa Culver was a great cowboy. Gigi made him some great shirts and he wore his holster low on his hips. Unfortunately there are very few cowboys these days. We enjoyed seeing you ride your horse. Gene Autry would be proud!
You are quite the diverse reader and a glass of wine and a good book are a great combination--but stick to milk for a while anyway.
I am glad to see your mom is teaching you how to climb down from your great climbing feats.
I loved to climb but my dad had to rescue me several times after I climbed trees or got up on the barn roof. I had several places I would go to hide from my little sister and read or write in my dairy. I read Kon Tiki in a great tree in my front yard.
I have enjoyed your recent adventures since your mom posted it. I get so rapped up in looking at you, I dont have time to write!!! I await your next journey.
Sweet dreams
Love
Grammie
