Better than Fireworks

On July 3, at 5:31pm, thanks to his quick and uncomplicated entrance into the world, my mom and I got to be there for the birth of my perfect little nephew, Benjamin Ryan Schirz. OH. MY. GOSH. If you have the opportunity to witness a birth in your lifetime...OH. MY. GOSH. AMAZING! Laura was a champ!
**Whether you intended for us to be there, or whether we just happened to sneak in at the right time (i.e. you were too distracted by labor to care that we were in the room), THANKS, LAURA (and Ryan) for letting us witness a miracle! He is absolutley beautiful!

As for the rest of the weekend, we spent it at my mom and dad's with Gracie, the proud new big sister. Although the weather wasn't the best, when they weren't contently sharing Nana's lap while browsing the Fisher Price toy catalog, they were screaming at each other. "Mine, mine, MIIIINE." They are, of course, both beautiful miracles too. Just the 2-year old louder version.

Jack also discovered bugs. He was happily observing them until something tickled his head and he began swatting. "Bug on head, bug on head!" No longer a fan of bugs.

Better than fireworks, is an understatement! You said it right when you said 'OH MY GOSH!' A miracle, INDEED! What a fantastic weekend! I love all my babies SO MUCH! Although, I have to admit, this beautiful QUIET Monday morning is treasured also!

You and your Mom are very lucky that you were there to witness such a miracle. What a wonderful way to celebrate a holiday!
The pictures of Jack are very cute. Good thing he didn't notice bugs until he left our place. The bugs up here are big enough to saddle and ride!
Love to all . . .
