The Walking Man

Check it out

We didn’t get the best on video, but Jack has made huge strides (ha ha) in his walking abilities in the last few days. This was just a cruise across the kitchen, but later, he walked from the recliner to the dining room table. For those of you that haven’t been to our palatial house, that’s about 15-20 feet. Yaay Jackson!!
I haven’t been posting many developmental milestones except for the drooling, so I decided to document his vocabulary:

Mem (that’s me)
DaDa (a variation of da-eee, which means daddy or ducky)
Hat (still his all time favorite word)
Hi (said to everyone in the restaurant at lunch today)
Bye-bye (repeated loudly to Grace and Laura as soon as I get home from work—he really does love you ladies, I swear)
Up up up (must be chanted in order to get up the stairs)
Ba-ba (first words of the morning…even after his mom’s been gone a week)
I-eee (Laura & Ryan’s dog Ollie, and all other dogs)
Teeth (as he takes his slimy little fingers out of his nose or mouth and reaches for your teeth)
Ears
Ball
Treen (train, which includes trucks and buses)
Ta-doo – this has been repeated quite a bit the last few days. Although there is no definition revealed yet, I’m hoping it’s “thank you?”
Gra-pa (grandpa, this is usually whispered for some reason)

Speaking of Grandpa, I forgot to mention in my last post that Grandpa Glynn gave Jackson his first haircut last weekend. He had hair growing over his ears that was getting a little out of control. I attempted going at him with the scissors in his high chair one day, but couldn’t get him to hold still. So, Grandpa caught him in the kitchen distracted by the Tupperware cabinet and gave him a fine trim.

Tonight's after dinner hair-do is brought to you by applesauce...

O' my goodness! You sure are a quick study Jackson. I can't believe what a good walker you have become in the 2 days since I saw you last. Go Jack Go!

Our little boy is no longer a baby, but a toddler. How does this happen?
Jack now has a larger vocabulary than I do when I'm drinking. It should also be noted that he walks better than Uncle Kevin or me (sober or under the influence).
Keep up the good work, Jack!
Love to all . . .

Wow.. that is incredible. Where does the time go? There will be no stopping him now. I love that Grandpa gave him his first hair cut! I wonder if that's why you have to whisper.. "Grandpa"...if he hears you, he may come at you with a scissors.

Happy 1st Birthday.. to his cousin, Grace!

Love you guys,

Peanut butter holds much better than applesauce and still leaves considerable body and shine.

Just FYI.

Hi Jack
I have watched the walking video at least 20 times and still squeal with glee. Grampa and I are so proud of you and are looking forward to having you stroll through our kitchen soon. Don't worry- I have plenty of apple sauce, peanut butter and blueberry jam to keep your locks in yummy style!
You are just moving right along in your growth and I guess we can call you a toddler and with your fast growing vocabulary "the professor" Hey what do you call you g'ma Glynn? You both had a great love for one another on vacation. We all had fun playing and singing together. I'm sure its special.
Sweet dreams
love
Grammie

So cute! Your little man will be traveling up and down the stairs in no time flat. (I suspect gates will be going up soon) The haircut turned out quite well, but then again, the shaggy mop is all the rage now (Jonas Bros!)
